PLI has published the first of a two-part series on restrictive covenant law and trends written by Partner Sarah Marmor, head of the Firm’s Employment Counseling and Litigation Practice. The first, on the basic types of restrictive covenants, appears in the PLI Chronicle: Insights and Perspectives for the Legal Community (October 2021). In her article, “Restrictive Covenants and a Changing Legal Landscape: Helping Employees and Employers Navigate Uncertainty,” Ms. Marmor details the types of restrictive covenant agreements – often misleadingly referred to as “non-competes,” and sets the stage for the second in the series, which will address recent on-trend changes in Illinois restrictive covenant law and offer practical advice for helping clients navigate these sorts of agreements.
