Deirdre Fox Featured at Two Local Art Centers

Counsel Deirdre Fox’s art installation, This Was Not A Fishing Line, was featured in New Business at Hyde Park Art Center through October 16, 2016.  Ms. Fox and the other exhibiting artists discussed their work at a reception on September 11, and at a Forum Discussion on October 2.  In conjunction with the exhibit, Ms. Fox presented a short animation, A Constructed Poem, on October 8 at The Hyde Park Art Center.  This animation project is partially supported by an Individual Artists Program Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency through federal funds provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.  Ms. Fox maintains a studio at Hyde Park Art Center.  For more information, click here.

Counsel Deirdre Fox’s sculptural drawings made with repurposed plastic bags were selected by curators Lela Hersh, President of Museum and Fine Arts Consulting and Lecturer in the Graduate Department of Arts Administration and Policy at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Monique Meloche, Owner, Monique Meloche Gallery and Lorelei Stewart, Director, Gallery 400 at University of Illinois at Chicago for inclusion in the 2016 Evanston & Vicinity Biennial.  The Biennial is one of the Midwest's largest and most prestigious juried exhibitions. Ms. Fox’s work was on view at Evanston Art Center through August 28, 2016.  For more information click here.
