Rebecca Ford Appears on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight Feature on “A More Inclusive Age of the Oscars”

On Monday, January 29, 2018 Rebecca Ford appeared on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight providing her insights on issues of diversity and inclusion with regard to this year’s Oscar nominations. Ms. Ford, Counsel at Scharf Banks Marmor, is the film critic for The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. The segment, hosted by WTTW Correspondent Paris Schutz, also included Chicago Tribune film critic Michael Phillips.

Ms. Ford and Mr. Phillips noted that this year’s Oscar nominees for Best Picture include stories centered on women and people of color.  Ms. Ford addressed the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ recent addition of new members and its impact on the composition of the Academy.  On Sunday, March 4, 2018, tens of millions of movie lovers will tune in to watch the glamorous Oscar ceremony and learn who will receive the highest honors in filmmaking.
