Counsel, Aaron Schildhaus, authored an article entitled “EU-US Privacy Shield: Will it shield you from the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?” The article was published in the American Bar Association Section of International Law Europe Update, Data Privacy Edition, February, 2018.
Aaron’s article examines the provisions of the Privacy Shield, but cautions that notwithstanding full compliance with the Shield, companies will have to review and comply with the provisions of the GDPR, which imposes requirements that exceed the protections afforded under the Shield. The GDPR enters into force on May 25, 2018; thus, US companies must get their processes and procedures in line with it in very short order. To read the article, please click here.
