Christian Liipfert Speaks at Annual MER Conference

On May 25, 2021 Counsel Christian Liipfert will speak at the annual MER Conference on “Evaluating the Importance of Your Information Governance Policies and Procedures.”   A renowned expert on Information Governance, Mr. Liipfert served as an in-house lawyer for more than 25 years with large companies such as BP, Amoco and Schlumberger. Mr Liipfert speaks and writes frequently on how Information Governance professionals can help organizations achieve their business objectives.

“Most companies have a Code of Conduct to address compliance with law,” stated Mr. Liipfert.  “This is because, in part, Directors have a duty to encourage ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with laws.”  Mr. Liipfert added, “They also have a duty to protect the corporate information assets and, as a result, companies normally have a wide range of policies and procedures covering different aspects of Information Governance.”

Mr. Liipfert’s presentation will address the importance of policies guiding  corporate behavior and driving compliance with Information Governance requirements.  He will provide his insights and advice on influencing corporate culture so that compliance with policies becomes as important as compliance with law.

Since 1992 MER has examined contemporary Information Governance issues from the legal, technical, and operational perspectives at its annual MER Conference in Chicago.  This year’s conference will be virtual. For registration information and to view the conference brochure, click here.
