Deirdre Fox Named Chair ISBA Intellectual Property Section Council

Counsel Deirdre Fox has been appointed to serve a Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).

The 33,000-member association, with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to Illinois lawyers, and education and services to the public.

Section councils provide continuing education and legislative services to lawyers who practice in a specific area of law. Each section is governed by a council appointed by the state bar president. Judges and non-lawyers also serve on committees and section councils.

The Intellectual Property Section Council has responsibility for enhancing the professional capabilities of Illinois lawyers who devote time to the practice of patent, trademark and copyright law and associated areas concerning trade secrets, unfair competition and antitrust law; to disseminate information about these areas of law to other lawyers and to interested business owners, authors and inventors, to promote improvement in the applicability of the principals of these areas of law, including through legislative efforts; and to facilitate communication among Illinois lawyers concerned with intellectual property law.

Ms. Fox was also appointed to serve on the Professional Conduct Subcommittee.
