National Law Journal Honors Stephanie Scharf

Partner Stephanie Scharf was honored on May 13, 2014 by the National Law Journal, who awarded Ms. Scharf and four other lawyers NLJ's first-ever Two Steps Ahead Award for contributions to advancing women in the law. At the award dinner in Chicago, Ms. Scharf thanked the “many people–including a number of you here tonight–who have touched and inspired me to focus on diversity in the legal profession.  I am especially grateful for the support I have received for my research on the ways in which women advance in their legal careers and how law firms can help that advancement.”  Ms. Scharf was featured in the April 24, 2014 National Law Journal  for helping to improve the status of women in corporate departments, in law firms, at law schools and in the business community. Stephanie’s work was described as “pathbreaking” especially her design and oversight of an annual national survey of the retention and promotion of women in law firms and the first-ever survey of women’s initiatives at law firms.  Click here to read the article.
