Scammers Threaten Corporate Compliance Websites—OR Are They Just Misguided College Students?

Ted Banks reports that numerous corporations seemed to be the victims of “phishing” attempts against corporate sites used as whistleblower hotlines. These sites are designed to allow employees to report suspected wrongdoing anonymously to avoid fears of retaliation.  Ted first summarized this problem in the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics blog on July 19.  But recent investigations reveal that there may be an “academic” explanation to it all.   Read Ted’s current analysis of the situation and update here.
